Unicare Health is very thankful to have been selected as the preferred aged care equipment provider for this 100-bed residential aged care facility in Perth’s South East.
We are privileged to be a part of Juniper’s growth and strive to provide excellent aged care and innovation in care and accommodation, to meet the needs of WA’s ageing population.

Set in the heart of the Gosnells-Armadale locality, Juniper Hayloft provides 100 much needed high care beds to Perth’s south-east. The ageing population in this area is expected to grow by 115 percent over the next 70 years.
Juniper Hayloft is a $25 million project positioned to provide excellent aged care to meet the needs of WA’s ageing population.
Built on a former horse property, Juniper Hayloft has been designed to provide contemporary accommodation for residents to live comfortably with appropriate care to their last days. Its living amenities are superior and comprehensive. There are plans to have farm animals that will add to the living community experience in future.
When fully occupied, Juniper Hayloft will provide employment and career opportunities for more than 120 staff including carers, allied health workers, nursing staff and managers who are required to operate the facility round the clock.
Featuring Innovation in Aged Care
Juniper Hayloft is a reflection of the organisation’s forward thinking and innovative approach to aged care.
The traditional aged care model is no longer relevant in the world we live in today. The provision of excellent residential aged care in Australia is undergoing massive and rapid change, involving aged care providers to rethink their methods of care delivery that has dominated the industry for years.
The Juniper Hayloft project involved careful clinical considerations during the equipment selection process. Moving past comfort zones and practices of the old-school, the expert clinical team at Juniper selected a range of modern, innovative and intelligent aged care equipment designed to respond effectively to individual resident needs.
Resident Rooms
The resident’s room in a high care residential aged care facility is often the last living room of people who become care-dependent due to age or illness. In this stage of life, the bed takes on a central significance and becomes the main focal point for the well-being and dignity of a resident.
Due to the significant amount of time a resident may need to reside in bed, comfort and functionality of the bed plays a particularly important role in making everyday life as comfortable and worth living as possible.
Nursing care beds from Wissner Bosserhoff‘s award-winning Sentida range were selected to provide:
- Resident and caregiver safety
- Falls prevention
- Pressure injury prevention
- Dementia care
- Functional independence and mobility
- Continence care and
- Ease of staff care requirements
These beds, featuring concealed mobility side guards, totally remove the clinical feel of a traditional nursing care bed.
Sentida 6 nursing bed – A universal low nursing bed that encourages safe resident mobility
Wissner Bosserhoff Sentida 6 is a universal low nursing bed packed with features to encourage safe resident mobility.
Sentida 7i intelligent nursing bed – A high-tech universal low nursing bed with a focus on fall prevention, decubitus prophylaxis and mobilisation.
Wissner Bosserhoff Sentida 7i is Australia’s first intelligent nursing care bed and the winner of 5 renowned international design awards. It is the only bed in the world that effectively addresses client safety, falls prevention, dementia care and pressure injury prevention to improve the quality of life for older adults.
Juniper Hayloft is the first residential aged care facility in Western Australia to incorporate the innovative features of the Sentida 7i beds to provide excellent global aged care.
Bedside cabinets and over bed/chair tables were custom made to suit the aesthetics of the resident rooms.
A range of world-class pressure care mattresses from Care of Sweden were carefully selected to aid in pressure injury prevention and treatment and to provide resident comfort.
Everyday Living and Mobility
At Juniper Hayloft, a portable ceiling hoist system is neatly installed in every room to promote the safe and dignified transfer and repositioning of immobile residents. Ceiling hoists dramatically reduce injuries resulting from the handling of residents in residential aged care.
Shower commodes from Juvo were selected to assist with resident’s showering and toileting needs. Manufactured using grade 304 stainless steel, these durable commodes are designed to withstand extensive wet area use. They are highly adaptable commodes designed to be easily custom configured to suit the needs of individual users.
A selection of walking frames, seat walkers, durable wheelchairs and other mobility aids were selected to assist with resident mobility.
Regency care chairs were selected for their superior pressure management gel seating system and positioning features against traditional comfort day chairs filled with air comfort bladders that create unstable seating surfaces if not regularly maintained.
Project Organisation
The Juniper Hayloft project involved months of preparation work and diligently coordinating equipment to arrive timely from all over the world.
To provide Juniper with a streamlined and fuss free delivery solution and to minimise installation work on site, 100 Wissner Bosserhoff Sentida beds, over bed/chair tables and bedside cabinets were unboxed, assembled, tested, tagged, stored undercover in our warehouse and then transported in stages to suit the building progress.
Other aged care equipment such as wheelchairs, walking frames, care chairs, shower chairs and other mobility and safety equipment were supplied as required.
