Why does unicare provide free in-home trials?
We unicare about allowing you to trial assistive technology in the comfort of your own home. When you experiment with assistive technology, you can determine if it suits your needs and if you can use it easily and confidently. We want you to have peace of mind when making a purchase.
What are the two types of free in-home trials that Unicare offers?
We offer two different in-home trial services so you can try assistive technology comfortably in your own home.

What is the difference between Showroom at Homeâ„¢ and 3-Day Trial?
- Showroom at Homeâ„¢ gives you the opportunity to try our most popular range of low-cost home care aids. Our specially-equipped mobile showroom van comes stocked with a wide range of products designed to improve your independence and safety at home.
- 3-Day Trial allows you to try specific and larger pieces of assistive technology such as beds, mattresses, hoists, lift chairs, and other equipment valued over $250. We want you to have the best possible experience with these products by trying them before deciding whether they are appropriate for your requirements, environment, and circumstances.
Are there any products that I cannot try at home?
Continence aids and disposable products such as pull-up pants are excluded from our Showroom at Home and 3-Day Trial services. However, we can provide free samples and advice to help you navigate the world of continence care.
Bathroom and toilet products like shower chairs, bath boards, and shower commodes are for dry trial purposes only. We cannot accept returns or exchanges if the item has been used in the shower or soiled in any way.
We can deliver mobility scooters and power chairs for you to try at home, but we cannot leave them unsupervised for three days. These have to be taken back with us after the trial.
Our customer care team will notify you if there is anything we cannot accommodate through our Showroom at Homeâ„¢ and 3-Day Trial services.
Can I choose to trial products with my own therapist?
Yes, absolutely! We understand the importance of working with a therapist you trust and feel comfortable with. You have the flexibility to involve us as much or as little as you prefer.
We believe that the most successful trial appointments occur when there is a collaborative effort between your therapist, who has an in-depth understanding of your clinical assessment and needs, and a unicare product specialist, who bring expertise in product selection and fitting.
By combining your therapist's comprehensive knowledge of your unique requirements and our specialized knowledge of assistive equipment, we can work together to find the most suitable and effective solutions for you.
Whether you want us to be actively involved in the trial process, working closely with your therapist, or you prefer to have your therapist handle the trials independently, we respect your preferences.
Our goal is to create a seamless and personalised trial experience that meets your needs and ensures you find the products that is suitable for you.
