Rockingham Seniors and Carers Expo 2025

Mike Barnett Sports Centre, Rockingham
The annual Seniors and Carers Expo returned on Friday 10 October, and the Unicare Health team were delighted to once again take part in this fantastic community event.

With more than 100 stalls set up at the Mike Barnett Sports Complex, attendees had plenty to discover from engaging conversations and hands-on activities.

Unicare Health was on the scene with a colourful display of assistive products designed to help seniors stay safe and independent in their own homes. With the Australian Government’s new Support at Home program launching in November, it is more important than ever to understand how the right equipment can support ageing at home.

From kitchen gadgets and dressing aids to practical bathroom solutions, our stand offered a wide range of assistive technology for the Rockingham community to explore and try for themselves.

Our friendly team were ready to explain how each item works and why it can make such a difference.

Ivo, one of our trusted customer relations managers, demonstrated the easy installation and safety benefits of a raised toilet seat. This equipment can be a game changer thanks to its higher seating position and supportive armrests that make sitting and standing easier.

He also showcased our reacher range, a simple but versatile tool that allows users to grab everyday items without bending or stretching. With various handle styles and grip options, reachers can help with everything from retrieving tins from high shelves to picking up dropped coins using the magnetic tip.

Our wonderful events coordinator, Fiona, enjoyed chatting with visitors about the magic of assistive technology, including the universal tap turner which fits onto almost any tap to make turning it on and off easier for weak or arthritic hands.

Sam, our marketing assistant, drew a crowd demonstrating the popular One Touch range, particularly the automatic bottle opener that always impresses. She also shared information about Unicare’s services, including our new Showroom at Home™ service, which brings the showroom experience directly to a person’s home.

We know not everyone can travel from Rockingham to Bentley to visit the Unicare Experience Hub, so we brought something special along.

The Showroom at Home™ van itself made an appearance, along with our friendly new Showroom at Home™ Specialist, Blake. He spoke with attendees about how this free service allows Rockingham residents to trial equipment in the comfort of their own home. With more than 100 items on board, visitors were amazed by the convenience and accessibility it provides.

Between the four Unicare team members handing out goodie bags left, right and centre, a sea of pink bags could be seen making its way through the venue, filled with product information and delicious shortbread treats to enjoy later.

A huge thank you to the City of Rockingham for hosting another successful Seniors and Carers Expo. We had many meaningful conversations with the community and we truly value the opportunity to support seniors in living independently for longer.

To everyone who stopped by our stall, thank you. Our team loved chatting with you and we look forward to seeing you again at the next event.
