When a chill begins to settle over Perth, we know it's almost time to put the kettle on.
This year, the Unicare team once again gathered for Australia's Biggest Morning Tea, coming together to raise funds for the many Australians whose lives have been touched by cancer. It was a morning filled with warmth, generosity, and heartfelt conversations, all in support of a cause that is close to so many of us.
As a healthcare organisation, we regularly walk alongside customers, families, and carers who are navigating the challenges of cancer. Their resilience inspires us every day and strengthens our commitment to helping create a cancer-free future.
The Unicare BBQ area was transformed into a welcoming gathering space, dressed in the iconic blue and yellow colours of the Cancer Council. The aroma of freshly baked treats drifted through the air as staff arrived carrying an impressive selection of homemade delights.
From sweet baked goods lovingly prepared in home kitchens to favourite store-bought specialties shared among colleagues, every contribution reflected the generosity and community spirit that make this event so special. The morning tea table quickly filled with delicious treats, creating the perfect setting for our team to come together, share stories, and enjoy each other's company.
One of the most heartwarming aspects of the day was seeing the collective effort behind the event. Staff members generously donated their time, baking skills, and contributions, all united by a shared desire to support those affected by cancer.
After enjoying a cozy morning tea together, we checked our fundraising page and were thrilled to discover that the Unicare team had raised an incredible $1,000 for Cancer Council.
These funds will help support vital cancer research, prevention programs, advocacy initiatives, and support services for Australians impacted by cancer each year.
