Annette Dumble, our esteemed clinical educator, led the therapists through our showroom, emphasizing the importance of selecting equipment based on individual user needs, health conditions, and environmental factors.
Hands-On Experience with Lifting Hoists
Annette showcased industry-leading lifting hoists, including the Ansa Sonata, Ansa Alto, and Oxford Advance.
She addressed common challenges associated with manual handling and demonstrated how innovative designs can enhance safety and confidence for both clients and caregivers.
For instance, the Ansa Sonata and Alto hoists are equipped with Spacelink technology. This feature allows the hoist to adapt and extend its reach during transfers, creating additional space for patients. This extra room not only accommodates a wider range of clients but also provides better protection against accidental bumps and scrapes. Moreover, it helps make the lifting process less intimidating, allowing both clients and caregivers to feel calmer and more confident.
By understanding the clinical features and benefits of equipment, attendees gained valuable knowledge and skills to ensure their clients' well-being while also safeguarding their own health and safety.
Attendees gained practical insights into lifting hoists and their accessories, learning about the distinctions between 2-point and 4-point yokes, the benefits of integrated weigh scales, and the safety advantages of powered pivot frames. Annette guided them in measuring clients for the correct sling size, emphasizing safety and skin protection.
Showcasing the Luna Ceiling Hoist System
Sam Dartnall, our ceiling hoist expert, introduced the versatile Luna overhead ceiling hoist system, which seamlessly transitions between fixed and portable modes. Its sleek Scandinavian design and waterproof features make it ideal for diverse healthcare environments.
Electric Profiling Beds for Enhanced Mobility
Annette also discussed the benefits of electric profiling beds, such as the Xcel 3 and Xcel 3 Pro, which offer customizable positioning to improve comfort and mobility. Participants learned how to utilize these beds to minimize manual handling tasks while enhancing pressure care and postural stability.
