The Cancer Council is Western Australia’s leading community-funded cancer organisation and was established in 1958. Since then, the Cancer Council has worked tirelessly towards a cancer free future with the help of the WA community. It has contributed over $50 million to 1014 local research projects, continuously educated people to lead healthier lifestyles to reduce cancer risk and supports over 32,000 Western Australians every year.

The Cancer Council held the first “Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea” event in 1994, a community fundraising event encouraging West Australians to host a morning tea at home, in the workplace or anywhere in their communities to raise funds towards a cancer free future.

2025 marked Unicare’s eight year participating in the Biggest Morning Tea, hosting the gathering among the team in the Unicare Bentley office. At Unicare, we often walk alongside customers and families who are facing the challenges of cancer. These experiences touch us deeply and strengthen our commitment to help create a future free from cancer.

This year, Unicare came together to raise $890, a wondrous effort from the team that will go towards funding cancer research, support services, prevention programs, and advocacy.

The Unicare team embraced the spirit of the event and got busy in the kitchen. We feasted from a table overflowing with delicious treats like sausage rolls, macaroons, cheesy pull-a-part bread and a generous array of sweet baked goods.

Thank you to all our staff who came together to prepare morning tea and donate to such an important cause. We must all work together in the mission towards a cancer free future.
