Rocky Bay - Lady Lawley Cottage
8 Gibney St, Cottesloe 6011
Unicare Health is proud to present the latest ceiling hoist installation at the recently renovated Rocky Bay Lady Lawley Cottage.

Where functionality meets charm, Rocky Bay’s Lady Lawley Cottage presents therapy services to children and youth with an iconic sea view.

The Hub supports children and young people of all abilities with a range of specialist children services and boasts wonderfully unique features like a soft play room, complete with wall to wall soft blocks and a slide!

Project Overview
The Unicare Projects team met with Clinical Operations Manager Brooke Toia and Project Manager John Jones initially to discuss Rocky Bay’s requirements for their therapy services and what we can offer to make it happen.
Rocky Bay’s goal was to install two hoist systems, one that would act as a supporting walk track to support gait training and the other to act as a room covering hoist system that would encompass all other therapy and rehabilitation activities.
Not only did we have an equipment solution to meet the needs of Lady Lawley Cottage, we were able to work with a team of engineers to ensure the hoists could be installed safely using the existing roof structure, rendering expensive roof modifications unnecessary for the project.
Luna Ceiling Hoist System
Unicare installed two Luna ceiling hoist systems in the Koorliny gym. The two lifters were carefully selected in conjunction with the set project brief and offers fully encompassing functionality for therapists to utilise for clients.

The Luna Mover – Single Walk Track
The newest addition to the Luna family is the Luna Mover, an electrically powered ceiling hoist which allows users to effortlessly move the Luna ceiling lift along the Single Walk Track with the use of a familiar Luna hand control.

This unique powered frame will allow the Luna ceiling hoist to play a crucial role in assisting with reducing manual handling in physical rehabilitation programs. The supported walk track will enable clients to engage in gait training and exercises in a safe and controlled environment.
XY Ceiling Hoist Track System
Coupled with the Luna Mover is the presence of another Luna Ceiling Hoist on an XY Ceiling Hoist Track System. The XY system consists of two fixed parallel tracks with a movable track suspended between them. This configuration allows the hoist to move along both the X and Y axis, providing full coverage of the XY perimeter.

Design and Functionality
The Luna’s sleek Scandinavian design offers subtlety, and its compact nature ensures it doesn’t invade the patient space.

The mix-and-match flexibility of Luna rails meant we could select an E-Track for the XY ceiling hoist track system, offering a discreet wall-mounted solution. The E-track promises a fuss-free installation that doesn’t sacrifice the ability to traverse the space of the XY perimeter.

Thank you
Thank you to our friends at Rocky Bay for trusting Unicare to fit out this wonderfully renovated facility with the state-of-the-art Luna ceiling hoist. We trust that the two Luna ceiling hoists in the Koorliny Gym will be able to go above and beyond the needs of your clients and enable a generous range of Rocky Bay’s therapy programs.
