Unicare participates in Jeans for Genes 2019 to raise funds for genetic research
Jeans for Genes Morning Tea
Tuesday, 30 July 2019
Did you know that 1 in 20 Aussie kids face a birth defect or genetic disease? In fact, 30% of children’s hospital admissions are due to genetic disorders.
Kids just want to be kids, but instead of playing sports with their friends or catching butterflies on a sunny day, these kids are getting liver transplants, taking dozens of medications, or getting their next dose of chemotherapy.
To help the scientists at Children’s Medical Research Institute discover treatments and cures, Unicare Health fundraises through Jeans for Genes every year, so that every child has the opportunity to live a long and healthy life.
In support of Jeans for Genes, Unicare Health staff arrived at work donning blue and denim outfits, with freshly baked treats to host a scrumptious fundraising morning tea. Entry donations for morning tea were imposed and staff donated generously to the cause.
Unicare Health is glad to have been able to support this worthy cause and is proud to be supporting Children’s Medical Research Institute.
No child’s life should be cut short, and we should do all within our power to change “incurable” to “curable”.
