Spyda construction wins Master Builders Excellence in construction award for the refurbishment and renovation of Unicare Health
Congratulations to our builder, SPYDA Constructions, who won a prestigious award at the recent 2022 Master Builders-Bankwest Excellence in Construction Awards for the refurbishment and renovation of our new home in Bentley.
SPYDA Constructions took out winner for “Best Refurbishment or Renovation ($1.5 million – $5 million)”, for the work they undertook to create a stunning, two-storey office and warehouse building that is now the new Unicare Health.
This project involved the refurbishment of an existing warehouse and office on an 8000sqm property that had previously served as a Target warehousing and distribution centre in its early years.
Construction work included extending the existing mezzanine floor to generate more office and showroom space, demolishing a portion of the warehouse and exterior facade, and adding a light-weight mezzanine to the front elevation for a staff indoor and outdoor kitchen and seating area.
There was also a complete refurbishment of the front elevation that included painted render to existing brickwork, structural steel and ultrabond clad canopies, and commercial grade window frames and glazing.
The upgraded premises internal construction included a two-story office fit out, elevator install, showroom space, warehouse upgrades, a gym, and outdoor recreational areas.
The existing car park was modified to accommodate new loading dock requirements, with a combination of asphalt and concrete installed to the new car park and driveways, followed by a landscape architect designed upgrade of new featured areas.
As the warehouse remained operational during construction, each stage of the building process was carefully coordinated and managed to ensure that all safety measures were in place. This resulted in a successful collaboration between Spyda Constructions and Unicare Health to achieve a successful outcome.
