This year, we rocked our snazziest blue jeans to celebrate another fantastic year of Jeans for Genes. This fabulous charity is all about raising funds to battle children’s genetic diseases, ensuring Aussie kids enjoy brighter days.
Why Jeans for Genes Matters
Jeans for Genes Day is more than just an excuse to wear our favourite denim to work. It's a crucial fundraising initiative supporting the Children's Medical Research Institute (CMRI) in their mission to find treatments and cures for genetic conditions affecting Australian children. These include Cancer, Epilepsy, Cystic fibrosis, Genetic blindness, and many other rare genetic disorders. With 1 in 20 children facing a birth defect or genetic disease, the need for this research is more pressing than ever.
Unicare's Bright Blue Fundraising Efforts
At Unicare, we are committed to improving the healthcare landscape for all Australians. That is why we love tying on our aprons and cooking up a storm to support charity events that are paving the path for a better future.
This year, our team exceeded expectations by raising a record-breaking $2,478 for children's genetic disease research! Can you believe it? That is enough to help fund innovative new treatments in the lab, such as battling brain cancer, supporting game-changing gene therapy, and even curing diseases that were previously thought to be incurable. Our hope is that these funds will help children across Australia live vibrant, healthy, and happy lives.
To make our fundraiser extra spectacular, everyone put on their creative hats to put together a table full of delectable treats! From cookie monster bites to tea cakes and jelly cups, our team's culinary skills truly took the cake.
Our graphic designer, Donna, took home the prize for the most creative photo of our marketing assistant, Sam, with a trendy denim headpiece that truly "blue" us away!
Our dispatch team member, Ben, had everyone in stitches with his gravity-defying ears!
