Unicare enjoys being a part of the Rocky Bay and City of Geraldton's Aquarena accessibility improvement project
People with mobility challenges and their caregivers will find it much easier to enjoy the Aquarena now that new accessible equipment has been installed at the City of Greater Geraldton‘s pool facility.
Under Rocky Bay‘s advice and support, an array of accessible equipment was sourced, supplied and installed at the Aquarena to improve community access and inclusion.
Rocky Bay, the City of Greater Geraldton, Rotary Club of Geraldton-Greenough and Variety Midwest pulled together to source, fund and install the accessible equipment for community use.
“The Pelican Pool Hoist was supplied and installed to give those with mobility challenges a chance to be active and enjoy the water, as well as giving them an opportunity to receive aquatic therapy.”
Designed and manufactured in Australia, the Pelican Pool Hoist allows a person with any disability to have access to both above and below ground spas, swimming & Hydrotherapy pools – without any manual lifting. It is a popular choice and suitable for use in public pools as the unit can be mobile or fixed permanently at the edge of the pool.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to supply and install new accessible equipment at the Aquarena, and thrilled to be involved in this meaningful project to improve community access and inclusion. Rocky Bay has been a long-time customer and industry partner of ours, and we are grateful for the trusted friendship and good working relationship that has developed over decades in this industry.”
