Annette and Ilissa make new pressure care discoveries at EPUAP 2023
Earlier this month, our clinical educators, Annette Terranova, and Ilissa Liew, had the pleasure of attending the EPUAP 2023 Conference in Leeds, UK. The European Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel (EPUAP) is the leading European authority on pressure injury care and prevention for delegates worldwide. This conference marked the 23rd annual EPUAP conference, held in the world-class Royal Armouries in Leeds.

EPUAP provides EU-wide education and campaigns with accessible resources for clinicians and the public and supports international and interdisciplinary research activities and partnerships.
An important focus is the development of cross-continental international clinical guidelines to support practitioners in making informed decisions about interventions for prevention and treatment.
EPUAP 2023 Conference
The EPUAP 2023 Conference brought together the top researchers, clinicians, health professionals, and industry experts from around the world. These experts came together to share new information and innovations in pressure injury prevention, treatment, and care.
Annette and Ilissa enjoyed listening to research presentations about pressure injury care from a range of global experts. Over three jam-packed days, they learned about new clinical practices, patient vs person-centered care, equipment innovations, and artificial intelligence developments. They are excited to bring these discoveries home to help practitioners in Perth enhance their capabilities.

Annette and Ilissa had a lovely time catching up with friends in the pressure care field and getting to know new ones. They also took the chance to meet with the Care of Sweden team at EPUAP 2023, who showcased new innovations in pressure mattress technology.
