Product Overview
The Unicare Aura Ultralight Transit Wheelchair is a compact, lightweight mobility solution designed for assisted transport, enabling caregivers to safely and efficiently support individuals with reduced mobility. It is commonly used by older adults, people with neurological conditions, fatigue, or those recovering from surgery or injury, where independent walking or self-propelling a wheelchair is not practical. The transit design features smaller rear wheels and push handles, allowing an attendant to control movement, making it ideal for hospital discharge, community outings, and everyday transport.
The ultra-lightweight aluminium frame, starting from approximately 7.5 kg without legrests, combined with a compact folding mechanism makes it easy to lift into a car and store when not in use, reducing strain for caregivers. Features such as swing-away removable leg rests, height-adjustable footplates, padded armrests, and a fold-down backrest support safe transfers and positioning, while push-to-lock brakes and attendant brake controls provide safety during movement. Occupational therapists commonly prescribe transit wheelchairs for short- to medium-distance mobility, post-operative recovery, and situations where a user requires full assistance but still needs to access the community. Crash-tested and transit-approved to ISO standards, the Aura offers a practical and reliable solution for safe transport, improved comfort, and maintaining independence with caregiver support.
