Our 3-day Trial-at-home service allows you to try high-value products, such as beds, mattresses, hoists, and lift chairs, in your own home. This free service is designed to provide you with a hassle-free and immersive trial experience, ensuring that you make an informed decision before committing to a purchase.
When you book a 3-day Trial-at-home appointment, a Unicare occupational therapist or product specialist will personally deliver the product of your choice to your doorstep. They will guide you through the setup process and provide invaluable insights and demonstrations on how to use the product safely and effectively.
What products can I try?
You can try electric profiling beds, pressure care mattresses, hoists, lift chairs, and most unicare products valued over $250. You can also use this service for products that are not available through Showroom-at-home.
We want you to have the best possible experience with these products by trying them for three days before deciding whether they suit your requirements, environment, and circumstances.
Why should I try assistive technology in my own home?
When you experiment with assistive technology in your home, you'll be able to determine whether it works for you and if you can use it easily and confidently.
For example, the ideal bed and mattress for you should be comfortable, fulfill your pressure care and positioning requirements, and support your changing mobility needs. We can give you the appropriate guidance and the right recommendations to help you select the best assistive technology for your needs.

When you request a trial from us, we typically provide brand-new equipment straight from our inventory.
The purpose of the trial is to allow you to assess the equipment's fit, functionality, and suitability for your needs before making a purchase decision.
Once you and/or your therapist have completed the assessment and are satisfied with the trial outcome, simply let us know. We will then process the purchase, invoice you for the item, and the product will become yours to keep.
Our trial program ensures you can make an informed buying decision by experiencing the actual product. We want you to have a positive experience evaluating our products before committing to a purchase.
Step 1: Submit the Booking Form
Begin by submitting the booking form above. Our customer care team will review your request and may contact you to gather additional information such as your weight, height, and healthcare needs. This information helps us assess and recommend the most suitable equipment for your trial.
Step 2: Free Delivery (Perth Metro Area)
If you reside within the Perth metropolitan area, we offer free delivery of the trial equipment. For regional and rural areas, delivery charges may apply.
Step 3: Professional Setup and Trial
Your trial equipment will be delivered by a unicare occupational therapist or product specialist who will guide you through the setup process, provide insights, and demonstrate safe and effective usage. During the trial appointment, they will address your concerns and questions. If the product doesn't suit your needs, they can suggest alternatives. We recommend that your therapist, service provider, or carer attend this appointment to evaluate the equipment and provide input based on their expertise and knowledge of your situation.
Step 4: Three-Day Trial Period
Once the setup is complete, you'll have three days to trial the equipment in the comfort of your home. This allows you to experience the product firsthand and determine if it meets your needs.
Step 5: Follow-up and Next Steps
After the 3-day trial period, we will:
- Contact you via email for feedback on your experience
- Ask if you wish to: Purchase the products, Trial alternative options or Have us collect the trial products
- Guide you through the next steps

After the 3-day trial period ends, you have three options:
Option 1: Purchase
If you wish to keep the products you tried, simply let us know, and we will process your purchase. We will send you an invoice for the items you want to purchase, and once paid, the products are yours to keep. If you're purchasing through a funding package, we'll coordinate with your service provider for hassle-free payment.
Option 2: Return
If you decide not to purchase the products after trying them, no problem! Just let us know, and we will arrange to collect the products you want to return. If you reside within the Perth metropolitan area, we offer free collection of the trial products. For regional and rural areas, collection charges may apply.
Option 3: Trial Alternative Products
If the products you've tried don't quite meet your needs, we're here to help. We can arrange for the collection of the products you want to return and deliver alternative options for you to trial. Our goal is to ensure you find the perfect solution tailored to your unique requirements.
How You'll Be Notified
Our customer care team will send you an email or call you when the trial ends. We'll ask about your decision to keep or return the products. Simply respond with your choice, and we'll take care of the rest. If we don't hear from you by the end of the 3-day trial, we'll assume you want to purchase the products, and we'll proceed with the invoicing process.

Yes, you can try bathroom products like shower chairs, bath boards, and shower commodes on a dry trial basis. This means you can assess the equipment's fit, functionality, and suitability for your needs before making a purchase decision. However, please note the following:

We will issue an invoice when we know you're happy to purchase. Follow the instructions on the invoice to make payment. We will liaise with your service provider if you are paying for equipment through your funding package.
If the item is a regularly stocked item that has sold out, we will keep in touch and notify you when it is restocked. When that happens, you can give it a try.
It's possible that we won't be able to help with a trial if the item is a custom order item that we don't often keep in stock.
